Casino Monte Carlo in Las Vegas

There are numerous casinos throughout modern-day Las Vegas, and the Monte Carlo in particular deserves a special mention. This casino has been in operation for more than 20 years, and it covers more than 10,000 square metres. The centre is in fact beautiful, if not luxurious, and follows the traditional Monegasque aesthetic. The gambling house stands out first and foremost because of its exterior, but the atmosphere inside is also special.

The owner is MGM Resorts International. And in fact the company has managed to recreate all the traditions of the city’s gaming industry dating back to the mid-19th century. Both the casino itself and the hotel are being expanded and improved on a regular basis, thus offering new features to their visitors.  

History of the Monte Carlo Casino

This gambling house started back in 1995, and its original name was the Grand Victoria. But a year later, the administration decided to change the name, and the complex has since changed to its present name. The company also decided to use the sophisticated design of the halls. Already in the middle of 1996 there was an opening ceremony, but it was all private and only VIPs were present.

The year 2008 was not a good year for the casino, as the 6 upper floors caught fire one day. Even though it took an hour to extinguish the fire, the consequences were quite devastating. In fact the exterior finish was badly damaged, which is the real pride of the company-owner. In total, the damage reached $100 million. But it took rather little time to restore everything, and within a month the gambling establishment was welcoming its guests again. 

It was sometimes said that the fire was caused by a rival competitor who was jealous of the success of the Monte Carlo Casino. However, this information has not been confirmed. The overall popularity was also boosted by the many films that were filmed on the premises of the casino and the hotel.

Equipment

 There are 75 tables for table games and 9 of them are specially designed for those who prefer poker. As for slots, there are about 1,500 of them, and they vary in their design and functionality.
